My last Post for this semester
This goes out to all the teachers that I have had for this year. I want to thank everyone for your support in keeping me in line. Also the knowledge that you pass on to me will not be forgotten. I hope to see you all next fall when the semester starts up again, I know you all are looking forward to having me again in your class. May god bless you all. Have a great summer and don't forget me while we are out. I wish each and every one of you the best in life and hope that if there is anything I can do for you that you will let me know. Peace and love!!!
Computers
I have been working with computers since I was ten years old. They are changing everyday now, more and more every time I look at the news. Some new technology is always coming out, that is why I chose to take up computer classes at VGCC. You will never get bored with your job. It is always going to change. I am just happy I have great teachers that know what they are doing.
Advice
Some words of advice, never start anything that you don't play on finishing. It is the same way with school. If you take a class then do your best and finish what you started. The teachers have worked hard and have gone the extra mile to get degrees that most people don't even know about. If you find yourself stuck in a class as the teacher that's what they are there for.
Goals for next semester
My goal for next semester is to have all A's to continue networking and security, and hopefully make some new friends. I also want to get a job at some computer shop where I can take what I have learned and use it out in the real world.
Work
It is getting close to the end of the semester for me. I am just rapping things up in each class, no different than any other student. I did not always do my best in each class although I did try, it just was not my best. That is why I am sitting here now writing this blogs.
Not much to be said
What can I say I have made it through my first year of college. I have met some great people along the way and hope to continue. People that you meet and the friends that you keep should be the number one goal in life. I myself give everyone a chance no matter where you come from or what you have done in the past. I expect the same from others but do not always receive it. Very few these days have respect for themselves much less others. So when I say you are lucky to have what you have believe me you are.
School
VGCC! is like a second home to me. I enjoy most of the people that attend the college and also the instructors. When you are about to see one of the best instructors that you have had in a long time leave, it is almost like time stands still. You forget about what you are suppose to do, how the world never changes, and then it happens. Nothing seems right with the world, the grades you once had are no more. You can only wonder why, why this has happen to such a great person. The fight to keep your friends around will go on, it is a never ending process and just because they are not always there doesn't mean that they aren't thinking about you. A special person will be missed at the home of VGCC. Love always and forever: William Stancil

Fixing Computers
Today I went over the my aunts house to fix her computer. She is running a new hp with windows vista OS installed. This is the most unstable computer I have ever had to work with. First thing she has 90 processes running at one time when the system starts up and wants to know why the memory is so low. Another thing she has no antiVirus software on the computer, she says that windows defender will take care of it all. She is uninformed about anything that goes on with the computer and calls on me to come fix it every other week. I believe there is an age limit on who can and who can't learn about computers. It is a fast past world and some people just can not keep up. That is all I have to say for right now.

Troubleshoot
Today I set out to Troubleshoot why my internet would not work on a laptop. I have a Linksys router which I use to network my home with. two desktops and one laptop. I have to reset the router every so often or it does not connect my laptop. I went on the internet trying to find out why. The first thing I did was reset the router. This did nothing for me, the next thing i did was called my ISP again this did nothing for me. finally I looked on my setting for the laptop and found that it was not set anymore for a wireless connection. Some how someone turned off the wireless card and I spent most of my day trying to fix it. Lesson learned never let anyone on your computer that you do not trust. And if then with a limited account!!

Security
Security is the number one thing i hear these days when i walk through the halls of school, or even a small business. Do these people really know what they are talking about or have they even the knowledge to protect themselves? I say you can spend a life time reading but do you understand what you read unless you are faced with a situation. Once you are faced with a situation and do a hands on project only then will you learn. Set up a home network and try some of the things you see in the book and you will find it very useful. Always remember arm yourself with knowledge and thats the basics of security!
